When I was teaching, generous donors helped me fill my classroom library with books and take my homeroom class on an unforgettable trip to Philadelphia.

Now Words on a Mission pays it forward with your help — donating a percentage of profits to DonorsChoose.org.

DonorsChoose.org allows donors to choose which projects to fund, and the materials are shipped directly to teachers. DonorsChoose now funds projects in 78% of public schools in the United States and impacts over 28 million students.

Every time you start a new project with Words on a Mission, you’re helping to fund writing programs and tech projects in under-resourced schools across the country — and helping to grow the next generation of writers, thinkers, and leaders who will shape our world.

Some funded projects

Document camera and motivational postcards for 4th graders in San Bernardino, CA

“With the surge of Covid-19 cases, our governor just recently closed down our county. This is scary to me and my students. So I would like to create a space within my home that resembles a classroom to give my students a better learning experience than they received in the spring. Distance learning will be challenging and having the ability of using this technology will make teaching so much more simpler.”

*At this school, 93% of students are from low-income households.

The teacher said: “My students need journals to write in. I believe writing their thoughts, concerns, and emotions will help them to cope and learn how to deal with their emotions.”
